Keep reading to learn more about LED-assisted whitening and how the process can help you enjoy a better smile.
What is LED Teeth Whitening?
LED teeth whitening, also called LED-assisted teeth whitening, is the process of removing stains and discoloration from your smile using LED rays and whitening gel. The LED light helps the GEL penetrate your enamel, to better lift stains from your teeth. With this revolutionary treatment, you can enjoy a smile that’s up to eight shades whiter in just one appointment.
Benefits Of LED-Assisted Teeth Whitening
Safe – Your LED-assisted teeth whitening session will be overseen by Dr. Aluning, a trained cosmetic dentist with years of dental experience. Additionally, she’ll provide a thorough exam to make sure your teeth are healthy enough for whitening.
Effective – LED-assisted teeth whitening is performed by cosmetic dentist, Dr. Aluning who will perform the treatment for predictably superior whitening results. Additionally, the LED rays will help the whitening gel penetrate your tooth’s enamel, allowing it to treat even intrinsic stains, which lay beneath the surface of your teeth and are much harder to clean.
Fast Acting – Not only does LED-assisted whitening offer results in just one appointment, but it also whitens up to eight shades in as little as one hour.
Long Lasting – The results of your LED whitening sessions can last for years with proper oral hygiene, regular dental exams, and touch-ups as needed.
Reduces Dental Sensitivity & Gum Irritation – Dr. Aluning will take steps to protect your gums from the whitening gel to reduce gum irritation. She’ll use the right concentration of gel only for as long as is needed to prevent excess dental sensitivity.
Prevents Enamel Damage – Professional application of the whitening gel will help prevent accidental overuse, which can lead to enamel damage.
What To Expect From LED-Assisted Teeth Whitening
Before you can undergo LED-assisted teeth whitening, you’ll need to attend a consultation with Dr. Aluning. Your cosmetic dentist will examine your mouth and oral cavity to evaluate the state of your oral health. She’ll also ask you about your smile goals, and what you expect from your LED whitening session. This is also the perfect time for you to ask any questions you may have.
Once Dr. Aluning approves you for LED whitening, we’ll schedule you for your next appointment.
To prepare your teeth for your LED-assisted whitening treatment, we’ll clean them so the gel has a smooth surface to adhere to. Then, we’ll protect your tongue, lips, and gums with measures such as plastic barriers, protective gels, and vitamin E oil. We can also provide you with an eye shield to protect your sight from the rays.
LED-Assisted Teeth Whitening
Once your tongue, lips, and gums are fully protected, we’ll apply the whitening gel to the surfaces of your teeth. Then, we’ll expose your teeth to LED rays for fifteen minutes. We’ll repeat the process up to three more times, removing and reapplying the gel between fifteen-minute sessions and checking in with you to see if you approve of your new shade. Once we achieve the shade you’re looking for, we’ll rinse the gel off and you’ll be free to enjoy your new smile.
