The Complete and Partial Dentures Process
Consultation
During the consultation, Dr. Aluning will examine your mouth to ascertain your level of oral health and discuss your smile goals with you. She will also discuss the different types of dentures available and help you choose the best option for your needs. Your initial consultation is a great time to ask any questions or voice any concerns you may have.
Design
Dr. Aluning will take impressions of your teeth and gums to create a custom denture that fits your mouth perfectly. She’ll work with a dental lab to design your denture. You will have the opportunity to choose the shape, size, and color of your new teeth. The dental lab will create a wax model of your denture for you to try on and make any necessary adjustments.
Preparation
If you need to have any remaining teeth extracted, your Carson dentist will do so before fitting you for dentures. You may also need to have your gums and jawbone prepared for the denture. This may involve removing any damaged tissue or bone.
Wear
Once your denture is ready, your dentist will fit it into your mouth and make any necessary adjustments. You will need to wear your denture regularly and follow proper care instructions. It may take some time to adjust to wearing dentures, but with practice, you will become more comfortable.
